It's a Jungle Out There!
reportI made this cake for my friend’s baby shower. Since cake decorating is just a hobby, she requested a simple cake, but I wanted to make her something special. I loved the shower theme and had so many ideas for her cake. Everything is handmade and edible, except the sign.

Brandy worked really hard to make this baby shower cake for her friend special.
Everything is edible and hand made. She started by visiting a local strawberry patch to hand pick fresh strawberries for the butter cream icing. This smooth, sweet icing connects the different flavours that make up the home made layers of cake.
Brandy hand dyed the fondant. She wasn't happy with the taste of regular fondant, so she has developed a custom marshmallow fondant that tastes like a soft, chewy candy.
In addition to the smooth background layers and landscape items such as trees, clouds and rocks, there are 8 characters featured on this cake. When assembled, these characters form the jungle scene with their own unique personality and carefully planned placement.
Brandy worked very hard to make this cake. It took her a full week of planning, mixing, moulding, baking and assembling. I'm very proud of what she accomplished with this cake.
